Tulip – Triumph – MistressThe Tulip ‘Mistress’, ‘Tulipa triumph’, a fall planted bulb, is a new to our lineup this year. This variety has a dark pink bloom. Triumph Tulips are the largest and one of the most important class of Tulips. They come in every possible shade of color possible for tulips, including some wonderful pastels. They are particularly esteemed for their beautiful, traditional “tulip” flower shape. Triumph Tulips have sturdy stems and withstand windy weather. They are great for cut flowers and they have a long vase life. These are mid sized tulips with compact leaves and shorter flower stems. They are ideal for pots or even a spring color hedge. Triumph tulips respond well to a cooling period of six weeks in the fridge prior to planting.

Once our cast stone ornament is hand finished and cured, We apply a top coat of invisible water repellent and protective sealant.

Blakes PrideThe Blake’s Pride Pear tree fruit has a sweet, rich taste and aroma, and is lovely to look at as its skin is mostly golden and light-yellow. Blake’s Pride Pear is a new pear variety that offers great taste and fireblight resistance. Blake’s Pride is moderate in size, averaging almost 3 inches in diameter, with a short, upright stem on the fruit. It harvests about three weeks after Bartlett and it stores very well. The tree for Blake’s Pride is moderate in vigor and upright-spreading. Yield is moderate to high, with the first crop three to four years after planting. Suggested pollinators are D’Anjou or Bartlet Pear.

Cotoneaster – SpreadingSpreading Cotoneaster, ‘Cotoneaster divaricatus’, is a beautiful rounded ornamental shrub with pink flowers in the spring. It produces bright red berries in the summer and is one of the best fruiting varieties. The glossy, dark green foliage turns red in the fall. It is marginally hardy in zone 4. This medium-sized ornamental shrub matures at about 7′ tall by 8′ wide and has an upright columnar growth habit in youth, but quickly becoming horizontal and spreading with age. Spreading Cotoneaster prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soils, but is very adaptable and urban tolerant. It has few disease and pest problems. Its fall color is a nice mixture of green, yellow, orange, red, and burgundy, slowly becoming deciduous.
